“Expanding Our Children’s Borders” is an expansion project that will nearly double our treatment space at the Kenny Rogers Children's Center, provide additional parking, update and expand our lobby area as well as provide additional office and training space at the Center. Upon completion, we will be able to hire additional therapists to help us address our current waiting list of over 100 children.
We have been awarded a Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) grant in the form of tax credits to assist our efforts in completing this much needed expansion project.
What is a tax credit?
A tax credit is a deduction directly off what you owe in taxes to the state of Missouri during a taxable year.
Who qualifies for tax credits?
- Corporations (including S-Corps and their financial shareholders)
- Partnerships (and their individual partners
- Limited Liability Companies (and their individual members)
- Financial Institutions
- Insurance Companies
- Individuals who:
(a) operate a sole proprietorship in Missouri
(b) operate a farm in Missouri
(c) have rental property in Missouri
(d) have realty income in Missouri
What will be the amount of the credit?
The amount of the credit is equal to 50% of the contribution.
What is the procedure for claiming the tax credit?
- To qualify for credit, a donor must make a contribution to KRCC’s Building Fund program. Since this
project has limited credits, you are advised to contact KRCC to verify that your donation will qualify for
credit.
- Shortly after your donation is made, you will receive a tax credit application from KRCC. Complete the
application and submit the original to our development office. Please read all instructions on the back of
the form. Attach the necessary proof of contribution, then sign and notarize the application before returning it to KRCC.
- We will review the application, verify that the contribution as described was actually received, and forward it to the DED for processing.
- The DED will review the application and notify you in writing of the amount of credit allowed. The
Department of Revenue will also be notified. Please allow three 3-6 weeks for processing an application.
- If your business is a partnership, S-Corp, or Limited Liability Company, be sure to inform all partners,
shareholders and members of their exact share of the credit, as allocated by DED. Credit allocations are based on percent of ownership and may be claimed only in the manner approved.
