Striving to remain at the forefront of therapeutic intervention, the newest service at the Kenny Rogers Children's Center is Suit Therapy. The Suit is a soft, dynamic proprioceptive orthotic that is used to rehabilitate neurological and sensory disorders. The Suit is used along with an intensive physical therapy and exercise program and it accelerates functional progress to allow better results in a shorter period of time.

When participating in the Suit Therapy Program, your child will spend 3-4 hours per day with a trained physical therapist. Depending on your child’s tolerance, the Suit is used between 1 and 2 hours of that time. These daily sessions occur 5 days per week (Monday-Friday) for a 3-4 week period.

The Suit is used to treat patients diagnosed with cerebral palsy, stroke, developmental delays, ataxia, athetosis, traumatic brain injuries and many other neurological disorders. Because of its affects on the vestibular and proprioceptive systems, it can also be of tremendous help to patients with sensory integration dysfunction or autism.
